Description of the attraction

The Opera House of the city of Burgas is a significant part of the cultural life of the city, which annually receives tens of thousands of tourists. Since the beginning of the 2000s, the Opera and Philharmonic of the city of Burgas have performed on the same stage, which has made it possible to significantly expand and diversify the repertoire offered to the audience. Numerous cultural events of the city, in which the Burgas opera collective actively participates, will surely interest the sophisticated audience: the five-day April festival of classical music by Austrian and German composers, the July opera festival dedicated to conductor Emil Chakyrov, the Arts Week in August. In summer, residents and visitors alike can enjoy brilliant outdoor performances with renowned artists from other theaters.

The theater began its work in 1972, with the formation of a professional opera troupe, which received the status of a state theater (in fact, the operatic art appeared in Burgas even earlier - with an amateur production of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata in 1955). By the beginning of its official activity as a state institution, the theater had more than 35 classical and modern operas, ballets and operettas.

At the present stage of its development, the collective of the Burgas Opera House diligently maintains the reputation of its own theater, trying to attract more and more generations of spectators and listeners with their creativity. During a season, the theater usually hosts 6 premiere performances, organizes the visits of famous opera artists (for example, the theater has already collaborated with such masters as Tsvetanov, Andreev, Chanev, Tsvetkova and many others.
